Prime Video’s unstoppable action juggernaut is officially continuing down the line. Just days after the fourth season of Reacher wrapped up and while production on Season 5 is still actively underway, Amazon MGM Studios has confirmed that a sixth season of the hit series is officially in the works.
The swift renewal comes as little surprise given the staggering viewership numbers pulled in by the Alan Ritchson-led series. According to Prime Video, Season 4 drew a massive 66 million viewers globally in its first 28 days, pushing the franchise past the 200 million total global viewer milestone and cementing it as one of the platform’s premier original properties.
Global Success and Future Adaptations
A significant driver of the show’s success comes from its strong international footprint, with more than half of its audience residing outside the United States, particularly in the U.K., Germany, and Brazil. Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, praised the creative team and star Alan Ritchson for delivering a universally captivating performance.
While Season 4 adapted Lee Child’s novel Gone Tomorrow and Season 5 will tackle Make Me, Prime Video has yet to reveal which of the author’s extensive library of books will be adapted for Season 6. With production schedules pointing to a potential late 2028 or early 2029 release for Season 6, fans still have plenty of high-octane thrills ahead, including the upcoming Neagley spinoff series.
