Following its speedy September debut on the Galaxy S26 and subsequent expansion to the S25 lineup, the tech giant is now throwing a bone to the slightly older crowd.
According to reports from SamMobile, the Android 17-based One UI 9 update is officially hitting the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. But, as tech gods dictate, it is currently making its debut on home turf in South Korea—and arriving first for the faithful who braved the beta program.
Key Details
It isn’t just candy-bar phone lovers getting all the fun, either. Alongside the S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are also joining the One UI 9 party in South Korea. For existing beta testers, the patch clocks in at a breezy 500MB, suggesting the heavy lifting was done during the preview phase.
While this initial drop is restricted to South Korea and previous beta participants, it serves as the ultimate hype signal that a wider, global release is just around the corner. Non-beta users and international markets should keep a close eye on their settings menu very soon.
