- Jackery has introduced Cell-to-Body (CTB 2.0) architecture to its new Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 portable power stations.
- The EV-inspired packaging integrates battery cells directly into the structural enclosure, eliminating wasted internal space.
- The flagship Explorer 2000 Plus v2 sees a massive 60% reduction in volume and a 33% drop in weight while maintaining its full 2,048Wh capacity.
Portable power giant Jackery has taken a page out of the electric vehicle playbook to radically redesign its next generation of portable power stations. By adopting an advanced automotive battery packaging technique, the company has managed to aggressively shrink its flagship generators without sacrificing a single watt-hour of capacity. The new Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 represent a massive leap forward in energy density and portability.
At the core of this engineering breakthrough is Jackery’s proprietary Cell-to-Body (CTB 2.0) architecture. In traditional portable power stations, battery cells are housed in separate internal modules that are then mounted inside an outer chassis—a design that leaves significant empty structural space. Borrowing from modern EV manufacturing, Jackery’s CTB 2.0 integrates the battery cells directly into the outer structural enclosure, eliminating redundant protective layers and maximizing internal volume.
Smaller Footprints, Identical Power
The physical dividends of this architectural shift are staggering. The new Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus v2 boasts a massive 60% reduction in overall volume and a 33% reduction in weight compared to its predecessor. Despite weighing just 18.8kg (41.4 lbs) and measuring a compact 36.6 x 25.5 x 27.2cm, the unit retains its robust 2,048Wh storage capacity.
Its smaller sibling, the Explorer 1000 Plus v2, enjoys similar optimizations. It experiences a 44% decrease in physical size and a 26% drop in weight, bringing it down to 10.8kg while maintaining a 1,024Wh capacity. According to Brady Sun, Jackery’s Head of Europe, the update targets a core consumer pain point: bulk. “People don’t want more power at the cost of bulk—they want power that fits naturally into their lives,” Sun stated. Jackery claims it is the first portable energy storage brand in the world to successfully implement CTB technology in its product lineup, setting a new benchmark for the outdoor recreation and emergency backup industries.
