Karbonn A50S Benchmark & Gaming Performance

Karbonn A50S or Karbonn Smart A50S costs only a fraction of the smartphones with which it was competing in benchmarks. In benchmarks like Nenamark 2 it came right below Samsung Galaxy S2. A phone that costs more than 4 times of Karbonn A50S. And in antutu as you can see above in the photo above it scored more than 9000 points. That’s suprising right? But wait, it scored that much because of the Mediatek MTK MT6572 chipset. It is an old chipset and , hence it is optimized for the antutu benchmark. So, not so surprising. Anyway, below are resuts of all the benchmarks and full device information.

The last phone i would expect to be able to run GTA San Andreas is this phone. And guess what? It did run the game, but not for long. More like for 2 minutes and then it choked beause of almost non-existent RAM. On paper this phone has 256MB RAM but in reality it only has around 50MB of free RAM. It won’t take long for any high graphic intensive game to choke on you. The chipset is capable of running the game at least. But because of such bottleneck the phone won’t be able to keep the game running and it will eventually freeze or crash or the whole phone will become unresponsive. Happened in my case for multiple times.

Anyway, you are not supposed to play games like Asphalt 8 or GTA San Andreas on a phone like this. And it is good enough to run games like Subway Surfers. To see the performance yourself just watch the video below.
