Meet Sony’s Xperia E1 and Xperia T2 ultra

xperia t2Just after CES, Sony has announced two new Xperia phone. One very small and one very big, just like the name of Sony’s own video game, Little Big Planet. They could have announced them at CES after all they deserve the limelight. The picture you are seeing above is of the biggie named Xperia T2 Ultra(when did they launch T1?), the main unique selling point of this phone is its big 6 inches HD Triluminous display. The rest of the specs are fairly standard, 1GB RAM, Snapdragon Quadcore Processor most likely Snapdragon 400, clocked at 1.4Ghz with Adreno 305 GPU. 8GB internal memory. 13 Megapixel camera with full hd recording. It’s only 7.65mm thick and has 3000mAh which is more than enough for this processor and screen. I called this 6 inch display its unique selling point because unlike Z Ultra, this phone is going to be a mid ranger. That’s why the rest of the specs are pretty standard.

The phone you can see above is called Xperia E1. This phone could be the Lumia 520 of Sony. Sony doesn’t have a very good phone below 10,000 Rupees, It has a phone like Xperia E but that is a downright worthless phone even for such a low price. Specs wise this phone has a 4 inch display and very cool looking body, which we don’t get much often in this price range, it looks like a miniature Xperia Z. It has dual core Qualcomm MSM8210 1.2GHz Cortex A7 processor with Adreno 302 GPU with a very unusual RAM combo. Now a days, most of the android phones have 1GB of RAM, but Xperia E1 has only 512MB RAM which is quite low for android and 4GB internal memory. But we will see how it actually performs when i will test it myself. It has only a 3.2 Megapixel camera without flash and 1750mAh battery. Sony is advertising this phone for music lovers that’s why it has a dedicated Walkman button on top and a loudspeaker that can go up to 100db. That is loud.

Oh and both these phones are going to be available in dual sim variants too. If Sony price these phones correctly, let’s say Xperia T2 Ultra around 20,000 – 25,000 Rupees maximum and Xperia E1 around 8,000 Rupees. Then Sony you can have my money. No info on release date or price yet, but we will get these phones first i guess, because these phones are meant for emerging markets like Asia. More info on availability and price will most likely be announced at MWC next month.
