Sony Xperia M2 Benchmark & Gaming Performance

Sony_xperia_m2_benchmarkLooking at the price point. I wouldn’t call the benchmark performance of Xperia M2 good. But here’s the thing. The processor inside this phone can only perform this much. Increasing the price of the phone wouldn’t increase the performance of the phone. It runs on Snapdragon 400 chipset, which has quadcore Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 305 GPU. A combination that does not worth 20,000 Rupees. This chipset belongs to phones below 15,000 Rupees. Moto G has the same chipset and just look at its price. You can’t complain about the performance looking at that price point. But in case of Xperia M2, you can. Below are the benchmark results.

Antutu
Geekbench
Quadrant
Nenamark 2
Vellamo
3DMark

Gaming

If it didn’t perform well in benchmarks, then obviously it wouldn’t perform well in gaming. But the scene is not that bad in gaming because a number of high end games are optimized specifically to run smooth on this Adreno 305. But in case of non optimized games, the scenario isn’t that great. Take GTA San Andreas for example, you can see in the video below how horribly it performed. It was unplayable. Now, looking at the price of Sony Xperia M2 the game was supposed to perform better. In terms of storage, you wouldn’t have that much problem in installing, it has 4 GB in total of storage available for you to install games and apps. You can at least install 2 or 3 big games in that much storage.

Hi, I have xperia m2, it is fantastic device, good for casual gaming, great conectivity, extremely fast and fluid in everyday usage and best of all it has huge battery life, 2-3 days of regular usage or 3-4 movies one after another. I had S3 before and I am happy with this change. Only bad thing is camera, not so good for a 8 Mpix.
