If yes, then why? And if this price reducing trend continues then i am pretty sure whenever Xiaomi Redmi Note launches it is going to be 1,000 Rupees cheaper. Which means it is going to cost 9,000 Rupees not 10,000, even better. Anyway, coming back to the question, why? When Xiaomi Mi3 first launched it became a no brainer at that price. But Redmi 1s is not. Let me tell you why.
Xiaomi Mi3 has something extra ordinary for its price and it is its chipset/processor. One can overlook Xiaomi’s name and it being a chinese company and everything else because of that. No one is going to give you Snapdragonn 800 chipset for under 14,000 Rupees. No one. Ever. But Redmi 1s runs on Snapdragonn 400 chipset which is not much different than Snapdragonn 200, even Antutu recognizes them both as same. Besides, only difference between Snapdragonn 400 and 200 is the GPU.
Snapdragonn 400 comes with Adreno 305 GPU while Snpdragonn 200 comes with 302 GPU. CPU in both the chipsets is the same quadcore Cortex A7. The only difference is the one inside Redmi 1s is clocked at 1.6GHz. The thing is there are already lot of phones available with same specs around the same price. For example Lava Iris 406q, not the best choice but still it is basically the same device. Then there’s Micromax Unite 2 a beast of a phone for only 7,000 Rupees.
I am not saying that Redmi 1s is a bad phone maybe it’s because i personally don’t like Snapdragonn 400 chipset, that’s why i am not in the complete favour of it. Then again, it’s your money, your decision. If it suits your need then sure why not, go ahead and buy it. Or, buy it if you want to have a taste of MiUi on budget. Psst, you can install MiUi on almost any latest Android phone as long as it can be rooted and support custom ROMs. All i am saying is don’t buy it because of the hype.
With Mi3 you don’t have a choice but with Redmi 1s you have lots of choices. So, choose wisely. One more thing, tell me in the comments below if you are going to buy it or not. If yes, then why? I am curious to know.
You people are selfish though. Whenever i ask you something, you never make a noise but when you need an opinion about what phone to buy you people come running towards the comments section. I know that rant ain’t gonna change anything and i am not going to get a single comment but asking is my birth right. So, yeah. You better get to it.
