For 10,000 Rupees name one phone that is not from a ‘local brand’ and which could come close to this phone in terms of performance? That’s right, there is none. There’s no phone from the ‘traditional’ smartphone makers like Samsung, Sony that could compete with this phone performance wise. And that is also the reason why people are preferring local branded phones over those non performing over priced phones from international companies.

HTC Desire 620G Unboxing
HTC Desire 620G is just like HTC Desire 616 an affordable Octacore smartphone from HTC but the former is much more complete than the later one actually. HTC Desire 616 felt like HTC rushed to launch an affordable Octacore smartphone. It came with only 4GB of internal storage and HTC Sense version 5.5 which had some bugs. While HTC Desire 620G feels like much more polished device. As it comes with more internal storage, 5MP front camera and non under clocked chipset, all for a very attractive price.
So this is what was inside the black box that Nokia was teasing. A tablet. And that too a tablet based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. And it looks pretty good. It has an 7.9 inches IPS LCD display of 2K resolution with Gorilla Glass 3 and it is fully laminated(which is a big thing in India especially when it comes to mobile phones). Although it is not announced for India yet. It is announced to be available in China first at the price of $249.
As you can see in the photo above HTC Desire 820 scored almost 28,000 points in Antutu benchmark all thanks to the new Snapdragon 615 chip-set. It is not a bad score for supposedly upper mid-range phone. It even beat HTC One in ‘Multi-core’ and ‘Metal’ test of Vellamo benchmark and in benchmarks like Quadrant and Nenamark 2 the frames were like fixed at 60 frames per second. This is the first mid-range chipset from Snapdragon that has performed this well in benchmarks. Otherwise chip-sets like Snapdragon 400… don’t even want to remember.
Google has launched three new Nexus devices and one of them is a TV player like Ouya and Apple TV. It’s is called Nexus player. Along with all the hardware devices Google also revealed the official name of ‘Android L’ it’s called Android Lollipop. Genius huh. Nobody would’ve thought that. I bet you. That’s what the Lollipop alongside the new Nexus 6 means in the photo above, if you were thinking something else. Just making clear. This whole Lollipop theme/name sounds kind of funky. I like it.
Looking at the track record of Samsung. I would say, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is reasonably priced for what it offers. It has got the latest mid-range chipset from Snapdragon. The Snapdragon 410 which has quadcore Cortex A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU. With time its going to become an even better deal because Samsung’s smartphone prices usually falls pretty fast.
Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra is very balanced smartphone with a 5 inch screen. I am calling it balanced because most smartphone with a 5 inch screen under 7,000 Rupees usually don’t have 1GB RAM, or maybe don’t have a decent chipset or maybe comes with a very bad resolution screen. But Karbonn Titanium S5 Ultra phone has a decent screen, decent chipset and 1GB of RAM.
