Nokia X2 is a phone that has no future. Its parent company after giving it birth, couldn’t support it. So it(infact the whole company) got adopted by other big rich company. But they abandoned it too. Poor Nokia X2… it has such a tragic story. Ever read about a smartphone from such an emotional point of view? I bet you haven’t! You can find such occurance here on Aetomatic only. I write with my heart. Yeah, deal with it.
Anyway, enough of this melo-drama. Lets get to the point now. First thing i noticed after unboxing this phone is how solid it is. It’s back cover is so thick and hard that it could protect it from almost any kind of accidental fall. And almost the whole phone is flushed into that one plastic hard shell. That means if it falls nothing but the that shell will hit the surface first and will take all the impact even if it falls on the face. Hence protecting the screen from cracking. That plastic shell is kind of heavy though and that increases the over all weight and thickness of the phone.
As far as the software performance goes. The updated chipset increased the performance a lot from last year’s models. Now, the OS feels very smooth and hardly ever stutters or lags. Multitasking is very smooth too. Nokia’s Software X Platform was made to run on cheap hardware anyway. First generation phones ran on Cortex A5 processors, Nokia X2 runs on Cortex A7 so obviously all that performance boost is expected. They should’ve launched their first generation Nokia X phones with this chipset and then updated it with the Quadcore ones. But, what’s done is done. Can’t do anything about it.
And now, i am going to stop writing because i have to leave something for the review too. Below is the unboxing video and some stills of the phone. Enjoy.
