Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Benchmark & Gaming

Screenshot_2014-10-04-18-36-29Honestly i was expecting a lot from Snapdragon 410. But as suspected it turned out to be just an incremental update of Snapdragon 400. If you have seen my unboxing video, you might have seen Galaxy Grand Prime’s Antutu score already. It scored just around 2000 points more than Snapdragon 400. The real disappointment however for me at least was the gaming. It really didn’t perform well in that department. It performed even worse than Snapdragonn 400 in some games.

If you are looking for a around Rupees 15,000 for gaming only then you should stay away from this phone. I tried four games on it. One of them was just a casual game. Rest of the three were Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5 and GTA San Andreas. Asphalt 8 is the only one that ran well although with some occasional slow-downs. GTA San Andreas was unplayable at maximum and minimum settings both. Modern Combat 5 initially ran well but after one checkpoint or so, it started lagging/stuttering horribly. You can also say in terms of gaming environment, it starts lagging at the place where the most action takes place. That simply means that Adreno 306 GPU is not powerful enough to handle such gaming environment. Until/unless the developer optimizes the game for it. It simply lacks the raw power to run such games smoothly.
