Sony has announced Xperia M, which looks like an affordable mid-range offering from Sony. It’s going to be available in both dual and single sim varaiants. Dual sim version confirms that this device is going to come to India sooner or later.
Its got that arc like design, it’s only 9.3mm thick and weighs only 115 grams, by looking at the promo video i think it’s battery is non removable. It also has that notification light right below the screen just like Xperia ZL don’t know if it changes colour or not.
Sony Xperia M key specs:
-1 Ghz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Adreno 305 GPU.
-4 inch screen with 480×854 resolution (245 ppi) with scratch resistant glass on top of it. It does not have mobile bravia engine.
-Android 4.1 JellyBean, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory expandable upto 32GB.
-5MP Autofocus camera, HDR, LED flash, 720p video recording at 30fps. Front facing VGA camera
-Bluetooth 4.0, Dualband WiFi (a/b/g/n), magnetometer, proximity sensor, accelerometer, Dual/Single sim.
-1750mAh battery with talktime upto approx 10 hours on 2G and 9 hours on 3G.
-My Estimated price is around 15,000-16,000 rupees, approx 250-300 US dollars.
If Sony really release this phone at price around 15,000-16,000 rupees or cheaper then they could shake up the lower mid range market which is currently being dominated by affordable Quad-core phones in India. It is expected to be available in the market from Q3 2013, official price and release date is not announced.
