HTC Desire 526G+ Benchmark & Gaming Performance

HTC Desire 526G+ BenchmarkName one phone. I know i did this before. But here’s the question again. Name one phone except this one for around 10,000 Rupees that can score more than 30,000 points in Antutu. I don’t think there is one. I don’t know what they did. But it’s like they have figured out how to use the full potential of this Mediatek MT6592 chipset. Or maybe it’s just because of the qHD resolution.

It seems like they have optimized their UI/OS for this specific chipset finally. Because it doesn’t even get closely as hot as phones with this chipset used to. Whatever they did. It worked. For the sake of comparison, HTC Desire 620G has the same configuration except for the qHD display and it didn’t perform even close to this in Benchmarks or in general performance. Anyway, below are the scores.

Antutu

Quadrant

Vellamo

Nenamark 2

3DMark

Multitouch

PPSSPP

First things first. The version i used is PPSSPP version 1.0. And the following settings worked for my device but they may or may not work for your device. But most likely they will, except for some changes here and there. And settings could be different for each game. For example Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai will work with the following settings flawlessly. Smackdown vs Raw 2011 will also work with the same settings just not as smooth.

For Brian Lara Pressure Play, you’d have to turn the Frameskipping off otherwise it will run in fast forward mode. You can see what i am talking about in the gaming video below. For God Of War Ghost Of Sparta and God Of War Chains Of Olympus both. You have to select the ‘Non-buffered rendering’ mode for it to run at playable frame rate. This is the only game, at least among those that i tested for which you need this mode. It will mess with the colour a little and your screen will get very dark or turn completely black at some places for that and cutscenes you could select the ‘Buffered rendering’ mode.

There’s a glitch/error/bug in emulation which could prevent you from advancing further in the game. Whenever it is required to press “O” or “Circle” rapidly in the game. The touch screen button just won’t work. Watch the video below to know what i am talking about. If you have a Bluetooth Android compatible controller, try with that, maybe it will work. Since this phone does not support USB OTG, you can’t connect any controller through USB. You could always tinker with these settings until you find the best one for your device/game. Here are the full settings.

Gaming

Well, there’s not much left to write about in this section. But here’s something. This phone does not support move to SD or preferred install location. So as far as installing games goes from Google Play Store, you have a very limited storage of around 4GB. But whatever you’d manage to install on this phone. It will run. That i can guarantee. As far as typical Android games goes. Asphalt 8 and GTA San Andreas ran without any issues. There’s one good news though. PPSSPP games runs directly from micro SD card. All the games you see in the video below are saved on micro SD card.
