Unboxing Nokia’s Legacy

Nokia 515 boxI called this legacy of Nokia, because this is what Nokia is known for. Making quality handset with ease of use. Nokia build its name on these type of handsets. Today it was kind of an emotional unboxing for me, because of my history with Nokia phones and this is the last handset of its kind. The first ever ‘Smartphone’ that I’ve ever used was Nokia 5320 Express-music. It was my first ever Nokia phone too, at that time Nokia N series was the thing though, but i have to settle with 5320 Express-music because of my budget, but later it turns out that it was the best phone that i could get around 10,000 Rupees, the budget that was allocated by my father at that time. I searched and searched and searched on the internet to find a phone that has everything i want but with-in my budget and due to this limited budget i learned how to find the best value for money. Well, at least in electronics. I was in 10th grade at that time and i literally dragged my father to the showroom to get the phone the moment i saw it on the internet.

I’ve had that phone for more than 2 years, my longest duration with any one phone. Second longest was iPhone 3GS. I’ve never bought any Nokia after that except Lumia phones but they are not the Nokia that i liked. Don’t get me wrong, they are very good phones, but they just don’t have that Nokia feel. Yeah i am emotional like that, they have the name but not the feel, If you know what i mean. Anyways back to Nokia 515, I bought this phone for my father because his 5 years old Nokia E52 is starting to show that electronics are not meant to be used for this long, although it’s a Nokia, that’s why it still works almost fine, but its cosmetic condition is really bad. My father needed a real rugged but premium type of phone because of his use. He’s an Government employee by the way, that’s why he is used to have around like 500-1000 calls per day so touch screen phones are useless for him and no other company is making these type of phones anymore especially at this price range. And then suddenly this phone came out of nowhere and the moment i showed it to my father, he said “Order it as soon as its available” and so i did. And here’s the video.

Funny unboxing! Still waiting for this to arrive in my country to buy it for my father too! He’s been using a Nokia 6212 classic since I think 2009 and I want him to have another great Nokia feature phone..since he doesn’t really care about those other things on android and iPhone. Thanks for the video!
