I honestly can not believe what i am seeing right now. I am so excited i am getting goosebumps. EVEN WRITING ABOUT IT MAKING ME SHIVER DAMN IT!(See, i wrote it all with caps lock on, excitement is real). Since i am one hell of a budget phone lover. This is like a pure beast of a phone for the price of a generic smartphone with quad core processor and 5 inch screen. But Xiaomi Mi3 has the specs of a 40,000 Rupees flagship! I can recommend this phone even without touching/reviewing it.

HTC Desire 516 Review
As you people may have already know by now that HTC Desire 516 is the cheapest smartphone from HTC with a 5 inch screen. It also has a quadcore processor by the way. It looks good, isn’t it? Just stick a quadcore moniker with a phone and it suddenly becomes desirable. The people that buy these phones don’t even know what they are buying. They just fall for the advertising. But then again, it’s all business. You can’t blame anybody but yourself.
Phones with Snapdragon 200 chipsets either performs bad or very bad in benchmarks test. And that is understandable ’cause it’s a entry level chipset after all but HTC Desire 516 actually performed better with the same chipset. How? Software optimizations done by HTC over Android 4.3 Jellybean. The OS runs buttery smooth most of the time. Along with optimization HTC has also put some nasty restrictions too, but that i am going to leave for the gaming section.
With Micromax Canvas Knight A350 the main problem was proper software optimization. But Micromax Canvas Gold A300 comes with the latest version of Android i.e, Android 4.4.2 and the same processor 2GHz octa core Cortex A7 that Canvas Knight came with. Then what is the problem? Well, the problem is. Kitkat is actually not optimized to run on an octa core processor efficiently. Kitkat is actually optimized for low end smartphones, especially for quad core smartphones. It’s not like this phone doesn’t perform well or anything. But oh Well, just read the review you will know what i am talking about.
HTC Desire 516 Unboxing
HTC Desire 516 has very minimal specs. Very minimal. Specs you could find in most of the android phones below 10,000 Rupees(Approx $170). But it is still going to sell very well, you know why? Three things. The name HTC, it’s price, and 5 inch screen. If you think i am just blabbering nonsense and my theory has no base. I am just going say, look at the success of Nokia XL, you know what’s the reason of its success? It’s 5 inch screen, the price and ofcourse Nokia’s name.
Since Micromax Canvas Gold A300 has an octa core processor and that too clocked at 2GHz. It is supposed to perform good in benchmarks. Looking at the price it’s available at in the market. I would call it respectable. In one particular benchmark though. The GFX bench/Geekbench, it didn’t perform well. But then again it was competing with pretty high end phones in that benchmark. It still tried its best. The phone gets a warm even while running benchmarks because benchmark tests that run at full HD resolution use more resouces. Hence, more heat.
While i was unboxing Micromax Canvas Gold A300, it felt like i was unboxing a wedding present. I even said that in the video. The packaging is so nicely done. You can see the ‘gold’ theme everywhere. On thing i didn’t like is the way specs are written on the back. It’s written in very tiny letters. You won’t even notice it. The first thing, i noticed, after the unboxing it is the big beautiful 5.5 inches full HD display.
