Samsung just announced the successor of it’s immensely popular smartphone, especially in India, Galaxy Grand. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be a worthy update over its predecessor only if Samsung gets the price right. Because by looking at the specs it looks like any other Chinese/Indian branded quad-core smartphones available in India right now. It has nothing which isn’t already available in the market and that too at very affordable prices. Samsung official reveal page states that it now consists of a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon or Mediatek not mentioned yet.

It is official, Sony has sold over 1 million PS4 units in the first 24 hours or since it’s gone on sale. As stated on twitter by Shuhei Yoshida the boss of Playstation. Here’s the tweet (1 million PS4 sold). Now i am interested in knowing if those are actual ‘sales’ or is he talking about the number of PS4 ‘shipped’. I have a very strong feeling though, that he is talking about the sales, looking at the demand. Unfortunately some of the early consoles owners are not lucky as the rest, as they are reporting faulty consoles. Sony has officially given ‘failure rate’ figure of 0.4%, that’s 4000 consoles to be exact. Despite of the teething problems, let’s just hope that the ‘problems’ or ‘faults’ gets sorted out quickly in the upcoming time.
Yes, you heard it right, you’ve seen it right, you’ve read it right. iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c is available for free from Rcom or Reliance communication starting from today, 1st of November, the official launch day of both the phones in India. Now, You might me thinking ‘yeah right, what’s the catch here?’. Well the catch is, the phone is ‘subsidized’, it will be tied to a two year/24 months contract with a monthly bill/payment of 2,500 Rupees or 2,800 Rupees depending on which phone you choose. 2,500 Rupees for iPhone 5c and 2,800 Rupees for iPhone 5s, 16GB each. Which includes free ‘unlimited’ voice calls, 3G data, SMS, now obviously all of this ‘unlimited’ stuff comes under ‘FUP’ especially 3G data. So ultimately you’ll get the phone for free, you just have to pay the monthly bills as per your contract.
Nexus 5 is here, literally. Unlike previous Nexus phones Google is going to launch Nexus 5 pretty soon in India. Now you might ask, how’d i know that, well they have already announced a solid price for it on its play store page. So that’s a pretty good hint if not the confirmation itself. Google is saying “It’s the fastest and slimmest Nexus phone ever made”. Google is also saying that “It is precision-built from strong materials” exactly what materials are used is not mentioned. It is already on sale in USA for $349, 16GB variant.
I don’t get it, why these companies keeps releasing such useless phones, like how is curved display an innovation? First Samsung and now LG if they’d have released a bendable phone then i would’ve been running in circles and shouting that let me want to play with the damn thing. But no, what do they release instead a phone with a fixed curved display, about which i can bet none of us especially an average consumer like me wouldn’t care! And on top of that they are going to release that thing with a price tag that would break hearts of most of us and make us think why are we so poor.
The mini just like the leaks gets a ‘Retina’ 2048×1536 resolution Display, that’s more than your eyes could ever be able to see on a 7.9inch screen, PPI doesn’t even matter here, and surprisingly it also gets the latest chipset straight from iPhone 5s, the A7 64 bit chip along with M7 motion processor and it runs on iOS7 Operating System. Basically it has the same resolution as the bigger iPad Retina or the iPad Air. Its got 10 hours battery life. Its got the same 5 Megapixel iSight Camera at the back and HD Camera in the front and will also be available in space/gray, white/silver colours. So there’s not really that much difference now between iPad Air or iPad Mini apart from the Price and Screen size. The old iPad mini will still be available at $299, approximately around 19,000 Rupees The new iPad Mini will start at $399, roughly around 25,000 Rupees in India. Coming Soon in India.
The new iPad is called iPad Air
Well here it is the wait is over and the new iPad is here and its called ‘iPad Air’ and just like the leaks, it looks exactly like the iPad Mini just with a big display. It runs on the same A7 64 bit processor and M7 motion processor as iPhone 5s, no new ‘A7x’ this time, maybe next time. It will be available in following colours white/gray, silver/black. Its now only 7.5mm thick and weighs only 469grams(WiFi only model). It runs on iOS7 operating system. On the back its got 5 Megapixel iSight camera and HD Camera in front, same 10 hours battery life as before. It will replace the existing iPad or ‘iPad Retina’ but iPad 2 will still be available for $399. None of the iPads announced contains the ‘Touch ID’ feature, as it was suggested in the leaks. The iPad Air will start at $499 for 16GB WiFi only, approx 31,000 Rupees. It will start shipping on 1st of November in several markets worldwide, though no news on release date in India but its coming soon.
