HTC Desire 516 has very minimal specs. Very minimal. Specs you could find in most of the android phones below 10,000 Rupees(Approx $170). But it is still going to sell very well, you know why? Three things. The name HTC, it’s price, and 5 inch screen. If you think i am just blabbering nonsense and my theory has no base. I am just going say, look at the success of Nokia XL, you know what’s the reason of its success? It’s 5 inch screen, the price and ofcourse Nokia’s name.
A 5 inch screen has become such a deciding factor for most of the smartphones buyers these days, that they always give phones with 5 inch screen the priority. I am not talking about all. But most do. And HTC got both these things right with Desire 516. It costs something around 13,000 Rupees(Approx $216). It is the cheapest android smartphone from HTC with a 5 inch screen(of qHD resolution). And you are even going to get a free flip cover for the price. A freebie you can actually use.
Apart from that it has 5MP camera with flash and HD recording, 2MP front camera. 1GB RAM. Runs on Snapdragon 200 chipset which has the combination of Quad-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and Adreno 302/305 GPU. This is the weakest point of this phone. But most people are just going to look past it just for the 5 inch screen. It also comes with 1950 mAh battery, 4GB of internal memory, Android 4.3 JellyBean and last but not the least it is a dual sim phone another feature that is quite popular.
