You know, Karbonn A50S might look like a tiny little phone. But it holds a very big title. The title of being the cheapest android smartphone in the world. For reference it costs only 2,790 Rupees which is somewhat equivalent of approx $45. And what you are getting at that throw-away price ain’t that bad either. You are getting a dual core proceessor, dual-sim and what not.
According to Antutu which i ran on it after the unboxing, states that it contains the following specfication:
- Mediatek MTK MT6572 chipset (Dual core Cortex A7 clocked at 1.2GHz and Mali 400MP GPU)
- Android version 4.2.2
- TFT LCD display of 320×480 resolution
- 2MP main camera with LED flash and 1.4MP front facing camera
- Android 4.2.2Jellybean
- RAM 228MB total (50MB free)/512MB internal memory(expandable up-to 32GB
- 1100mAh battery
The funny thing is this phone is not even made by Karbonn itself. It’s just another case of ‘Great Indian Smartphone Rebranding’ if you are wondering where that came from. Well, i made that up. So, yeah back to business. This phone is made by a company called ‘Alps’ as you can see in the antutu screenshot below. And one more interesting thing, this phone has the same chipset as the very popular smartphone goes by the name Micromax Canvas 2. You see this phone might be tiny in size but it’s got enough to talk about.
Anyway, that’s enough of my chit-chat, i have to left something for the review too. You know. So till then, enjoy the video and some photos of the phone below.
