Sony Xperia M2 is available in Indian market for around 20,000 Rupees(approx $330). The point is, does it worth the price? If you look at the specs, it looks like just another smartphone with Quadcore processor and 1GB RAM. It has the exact same chipset as Moto G and Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 and lot others. In terms of GPU it has same GPU that Xperia M possesses, a phone that is available for around half of this phone’s price. I don’t even know what’s so great about that chipset. It’s very inferior especially its GPU compared to Power VR SGX series and Mali 450. Even Xperia SP has better chipset than this phone and it’s available for much cheaper price than this.
Anyway, i can’t tell right now what’s so special about this phone that made Sony price it this high. Or, maybe Sony is just trying to cash in on its brand’s name? I would like to remind Sony that their previous phones like Xperia C, Xperia M, Xperia SP were successful because of the reasonable pricing. This phone’s price will come down a lot faster though i can confirm that as its MRP which is stated on the box is not that high. It’s only 21,990 Rupees.
Some more specs, it has 1 GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP rear facing camera with LED flash, 2300mAh battery. 4.8 inch qHD LCD TFT display. One thing i noticed after holding the phone immediately is that, its build quality is pretty good. It looks exactly like Xperia Z. But it is not water proof/water resistant or dust proof/dust resistant. So, don’t go swimming with it. I will tell you more about it through my further reviews, till then enjoy some still shots and an unboxing video of the phone below.

It has a few screen limitations, but I expect the Sony Xperia M2 will sell well on the high street. It has much of the visual snazziness of Sony’s more expensive phones while selling at a fraction of the price. And if you have decided to become a proud owner of this device, perhaps you’re in the market for a solid and beautiful protection case as well.
